2025 Toyota Crown Signia
2024 Lexus UX

Safety

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Crown Signia. But it costs extra on the UX.

The Crown Signia Limited offers an optional Bird’s Eye View Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The UX only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Crown Signia and UX have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Crown Signia Limited offers optional Parking Support Brake (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The UX’s Rear Cross-Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Crown Signia and the UX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Toyota Crown Signia weighs 605 to 727 pounds more than the Lexus UX. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the Crown Signia for 1 year and 15000 miles longer than Lexus pays for maintenance for the UX (2/25000 vs. 1/10,000).

There are over 5 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Crown Signia’s warranty.

Engine

The Crown Signia’s standard 2.5 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid produces 59 more horsepower (240 vs. 181) than the UX’s 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Crown Signia has 3.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX (14.5 vs. 10.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Crown Signia’s brake rotors are larger than those on the UX:

Crown Signia

UX

Front Rotors

12.9 inches

12 inches

Rear Rotors

12.5 inches

11.1 inches

The Crown Signia’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the UX are solid, not vented.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Crown Signia has larger standard tires than the UX (235/45R21 vs. 225/50R18). The Crown Signia XLE’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the UX (255/55R19 vs. 225/50R18).

The Crown Signia Limited’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the UX’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Crown Signia XLE has standard 19-inch wheels. Only 18-inch wheels are available on the UX. The Crown Signia Limited has standard 21-inch wheels.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Crown Signia’s wheelbase is 8.3 inches longer than on the UX (112.2 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

Passenger Space

The Crown Signia has 1.9 inches more front headroom, .1 inches more front legroom, .9 inches more front hip room, 2 inches more front shoulder room, 2.6 inches more rear headroom, 4 inches more rear legroom and 2.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the UX.

Cargo Capacity

The Crown Signia has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the UX (25.8 vs. 17.1 cubic feet).

Towing

The Crown Signia has a 2700 lbs. towing capacity. The UX has no towing capacity.

Ergonomics

The Crown Signia’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the UX.

The power windows standard on both the Crown Signia and the UX have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Crown Signia is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The UX prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

The Crown Signia’s standard Smart Key System allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Access standard on the UX doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Crown Signia’s standard speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The UX’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Crown Signia has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the UX, and aren’t available on the UX Base. The Crown Signia also has standard heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the UX.

The Crown Signia has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the UX.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Toyota Crown Signia has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the UX.
