Compare the2026 Toyota C-HRVS 2025 Kia EV6

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Toyota C-HR have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Kia EV6 doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

The Toyota C-HR has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The EV6 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The C-HR has a standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The EV6 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the C-HR. But it costs extra on the EV6.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the C-HR’s standard Downhill Assist Control allows you to creep down safely. The EV6 doesn’t offer Downhill Assist Control.

Both the C-HR and the EV6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The C-HR’s 5 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the EV6 runs out after 100,000 miles.

Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the C-HR for 2 years and 25000 miles. Toyota will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Kia doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the EV6.

There are over 54 percent more Toyota dealers than there are Kia dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the C-HR’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the statistics that show that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Kia vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Toyota fourth in reliability, above the industry average. With 34 more problems per 100 vehicles, Kia is ranked 11th.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Kia vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota first in overall reliability. Kia is ranked 10th.

The C-HR’s electric motors produces 171 more horsepower (338 vs. 167) than the EV6 Light Short Range’s standard electric motor. The C-HR’s electric motors produces 113 more horsepower (338 vs. 225) than the EV6 Long Range’s standard electric motor. The C-HR’s electric motors produces 18 more horsepower (338 vs. 320) than the EV6 Long Range’s optional electric motors.

The C-HR can travel longer on a full charge than the EV6 on a full charge:

The C-HR’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the EV6 are solid, not vented.

For better maneuverability, the C-HR’s turning circle is 2.2 feet tighter than the EV6’s (36 feet vs. 38.2 feet). The C-HR’s turning circle is 3.2 feet tighter than the EV6 GT’s (36 feet vs. 39.2 feet).

For greater off-road capability the C-HR has a 1.9 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the EV6 (8 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the C-HR to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The C-HR is 6.9 inches shorter than the EV6, making the C-HR easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The C-HR has .1 inches more front headroom and .2 inches more front shoulder room than the EV6.

The C-HR has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the EV6 with its rear seat up (25.3 vs. 24.4 cubic feet). The C-HR has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the EV6 with its rear seat folded (59.5 vs. 46.7 cubic feet).

The C-HR’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The EV6’s standard passenger windows don’t open or close automatically. With the EV6 GT-Line/GT’s power windows, only the front windows open or close automatically.

If the windows are left open on the C-HR the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. (This window function must be activated by your Toyota service department.) The driver of the EV6 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The C-HR’s standard Smart Key System allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Key standard on the EV6 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The C-HR XSE offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EV6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The C-HR has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the EV6.
